As a former graduate of Pueblo Central High School, Bobby Gonzales returned to the school as their head wrestling coach where he spent 15  years (1979-94). He is one of the few coaches in Colorado whose record included over 100 wins in dual matches. Gonzales was named "Coach of the Year" in 1993 after leading his wrestling team to the first state wrestling title for the City of Pueblo.

Following his success at Central, Gonzales served as the principal of Risley Middle School and served as the assistant principal at both Centennial and Central before becoming the Pueblo City Schools Athletic Director from 2009-11.

Mr. Gonzales cares deeply about his community and the success of our future generation. He is focused on moving our educational systems forward and is passionate about the exciting programs and strategies that have been implemented within our school district. He was elected to the Board of Education in 2015; his term expires in 2019. He can be reached by email at or at (719) 406-5912.
